Nepal Can Move’s story started in 2018. We wanted to accept a meaningful challenge. We looked around for problems in a sector that will grow exponentially. It won’t take any genius to identify the e-commerce sector as a major growth sector for Nepal.
We were not alone. Many startups were already working in e-commerce sector. We looked deeper and we found that the logistics problem was much bigger than the e-commerce problem. We identified that without few high-quality courier, delivery & logistics companies in Nepal, e-commerce will not go beyond few cities. Online business that sell via e-commerce cannot function without a reliable delivery company in Nepal.
We identified our problem, but did not know how to solve. The first step was to develop a proper express delivery management system. We immediately got to task and started developing our own system that provides complete end-to-end solution with multiple access for admins, vendors, etc. Our system provided tracking to the customers.
The uptake was swift. From 10 cities, we expanded to 30 cities & towns. We started getting online businesses working with us mostly by word of mouth. While many before us chose an aggressive growth strategy, we chose a different path to grow slowly, like they say ‘age gracefully’. We were in here for the long run and there was no rush to bite more than we can chew.
Wide Coverage and Accessibility
We were growing well. Within a year, we grew to 60 branches and hundreds of employees. Then we paused and consolidated to further improve our system and quality of service. We improved management systems and processes and invested in our own vehicle fleet to reduce delivery delays.
Last year we grew again to 150 branches and doubled the number of employee to over 400. We make major upgrades to our system. We started processing tens of thousands of parcels every week and have already worked with over 2000 customers & vendors. Most of our customers rated us as the top quality delivery company. By the end of 2021, we started being the dominant player in the market and become one of the best delivery companies in Nepal. At today’s date Nepal Can Move operates more than 240 branches all over the Nepal and also handle the international deliveries.
